The Journey of Greening Jam Cruise

THE JC7 GREENING CREW

Greening Jam Cruise had its beginnings as a grassroots, fan-driven effort on our maiden voyage in 2004. Through the years, Jam Cruise has continued to develop a commitment to environmental and social responsibility. As the journey continues, the green team seeks to learn about and take action on the opportunities and challenges inherent in greening this magical musical adventure.

zero hero

For a third year in a row, Cloud 9 Adventures will work in partnership with ZeroHero Events and a dedicated in-house greening team to make Jam Cruise better, cleaner and more fun for the conscientious passengers and artists who join us on this journey. We are proud of the accomplishments of the Greening Jam Cruise program, and we are committed to achieving both short term and long term goals for greening in the future.

A Shifting Tide: Environmental Challenges
and Cruise Industry Reponses

We’d like to call your attention to two excellent reports published by Conservation International/Center for Environmental Leadership in Business:

“A Shifting Tide: Environmental Challenges and Cruise Industry Responses.”

“From Ship to Shore: Sustainable Stewardship in Cruise Destinations.”

We believe these reports are excellent resources for effective collaboration between the cruise industry and others interested in helping the industry further reduce its environmental footprint and contribute to the conservation of the ecologically important areas that cruise ships visit. This campaign marks an important paradigm shift, with leaders from both the international cruise industry and cruise ship destination industry jointly embracing the idea that environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility in which all stakeholders play an important role.

We believe our patrons have the right to full disclosure of all information regarding the known environmental impact of cruise tourism in order for them to make informed decisions as consumers, as well as be active participants in the greening process.
