About Positive Legacy
Positive Legacy is the non-profit arm of Cloud 9 Adventures. Positive Legacy is a 501(c)(3) charity organization committed to integrating live music and service by taking actions that positively impact people and the environment in the communities that we visit.
As we travel the globe we strive to transcend cultural boundaries by learning about the needs, hopes and dreams of the communities we visit, and by taking action to connect with them and be of service to them. Positive Legacy works to develop service activities that music fans and musicians can participate in to bring a deeper sense of purpose to their entertainment and travel experiences.Take a look at our outreach project details below and find out how you can do your part to Leave a Positive Legacy. Information on outreach projects will be announced in the coming months. For more detailed information, please visit the Positive Legacy Website. www.positivelegacy.com
Here's how you can get involved with Positive Legacy on Jam Cruise 13...
Day of Service, Intercultural Connection, Music & Celebration - Support the School of Life!
Date: January 8, 2015 - day 3
Location: Meet at Positive Legacy HQ, Deck 7 LaLuna Piano Bar
This Positive Legacy event will engage Jam Cruise attendees to support the School of Life (SOL) International Foundation’s commitment to enhancing the standards of education, arts and athletics in Roatan. Join us at SOL’s community center in Sandy Bay to immerse yourself in the local culture, meet the community members, play with the children and put the finishing touches on a new playground that is being funded by an $8,200 grant from Positive Legacy. The SOL Community Center offers children and young adults a safe and positive environment to become involved in extracurricular sports and educational enrichment programs. The grant awarded to SOL by Positive Legacy will allow them to enhance their playground, providing the children the opportunity to challenge themselves physically, interact socially and build their imaginations. For more information on SOL visit their website. Our day in Roatan will also include Dr. Bob’s Sound School presented by the Bob Moog Foundation. The BMF will present the history of the Moog legacy and basics of sonic science while allowing the children to create and learn in a fun interactive atmosphere. Experiential stations consisting of different combinations of Moog gear, including theremins, synthesizers, effect pedals and more will be used to teach and inspire the students. This event will provide several options depending on the interests of the attendees. We can put you to work building the playground, you can interact with the children and community members, go on a walking tour led by the kids from SOL, spend some free time at the nearby beach, visit the famous Carambola Gardens, a beautiful botanical garden located near the SOL community center (admission to the gardens is an additional $10) or just kick back and listen to the music play. Tickets for this event are $65 per person, which includes the cost of transportation, a delicious meal prepared with love by the community, music by local artists and Jam Cruse artists TBA and plenty of time to simply relax. This event is rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable. Tickets are limited so purchase your tickets now!

Last year’s carbon offset funds are hard at work in Haiti, where Cloud 9 Carbon Offset partner Trees Water & People is reforesting the desertified northwest of the country. There we are supporting 300 farmers in planting fruit, fuel and timber trees on less productive parts of their land, creating new shade, better soils, new income and additional nourishment for 1,500 people, while sequestering thousands of pounds of CO2.
