The Jam Cruise Flu is caused by.... us! There are too many sniffling, sneezing, boogery, folks sharing a small space. The handrails, doorknobs, elevators all of them see thousands of hand contacts and then people don't wash their hands before eating, smoking or touching their faces.

Germ control. Wash your hands, don't touch your face.

Lack of sleep and partying wears down the body's ability to fight off infection. Lots of water helps.

Jam Cruise- wash your hands, it's funky!

Luckily so far I have yet to have anything other than maybe a minor bladder infection. But I agree with the germ control! I am somewhat of a germaphobe but its very hard to avoid on Jamcruise as everyone is hugging and high fiving and shaking hands! I prefer to BOW to folks as I touch enough crap on the wheels of my chair...but I hope all of you get better soon!

tired, run down, fever, nausea, vomiting, yeah you could say a good case of Montezumas revenge.... still a good trade off though, music and vibe was intense.

doc was oh so helpful.... 'You have a virus. Take these (decongestant, steroid nasal spray, inhaler). If it's not better in a few days with these then it must be bacterial and we'll put you on antibiotics then. There's a lot of fluid buildup in your ears too so avoid flying for the next week or so" (which means cancelling my trip to Utah tomorrow evening).

Same here! I was in the doc office for about 2.5 hours yesterday and they said... Oh, it's a virus :) Nyquil it is :)

I suggest beer/whiskey/jaeger/other medicine of choice. Sharon has it way worse than me and the only difference is I've been popping vitamins and drinking beer. I felt worst on Friday - the day I didn't drink!

(Note: Not drinking to Jam Cruise levels, I just mean 6 or 8 a day)

...to the dreaded Wookie Flu!!!

Things I did:

1. Slept 4 hours or more per night.
2. Ate lots of vitamins.
3. Drank 1 Airborne (the updated kind with echinacea, etc) every morning.
4. Did yoga/stretched every night.
5. Spent most of my time topside (fresh air).
6. Drank, but stopped when I was drunk enough and switched to water and juice.

My roommates and nearly everyone I knew got sick and lost their voices. I think sleep is the biggest factor and we all know the food on the ship isn't loaded with vitamins.

WTF is with that burn thing? My buddy got that too!!!! What are the odds two people got it? Or more??? Or is it some kind of skin disease? Does it have blisters and looks like someone spilled hot oil on you? Did you go swimming? Verrrry strange.

Yes...wash hands...very good advice. I also read that same article about lack of sleep. The body has amazing powers (to fight disease) if we only treat it right.

Aside from losing my voice, I am feeling fine... I used zinc swabs religiously.. carried around anti-bacterial soap... refused to touch banisters or railings... and the big one that so many people forget as the cause of illness and shared germs: I didnt smoke.

I did share some shots with friends out of the same shotglass, and they are now ill as hell so maybe the alcohol killed their germs before they got to me ? :)

This has turned out to be a serious thing for many of us.
Shawn (Whyweigh) is in ICU.
Please contribute your Doc/Lab results here. We must get to the bottom of this.
I myself may have to suck it up and go to ER because I've actually gotten worse that I was. GF trying to get me to take an ice bath....I just can't.
My shivers come in waves but this afternoon I shook like a leaf for almost 2hrs nonstop...when it finally subsided I literally collapsed from exhaustion like I just ran a marathon

Shawn barely made it back. They had to take him off the plane on a stretcher. He is in the ICU now and stable. If you are really sick go see a doctor
